Methods for Applying Hair Extensions

Depending on your budget, there are a few different types of hair extension applications that we offer at our Loganville salon. Generally, the most popular methods for applying hair extensions are:

Tape-in

These extensions are pressed to your existing hair follicles using double-sided tape and held in place using a heat method which fuses the tape with your hair. These are a mid-range product which can last six to eight weeks. It is recommended that they be maintained and re-done at least every two months. This method takes about one hour to complete and is very natural-looking and versatile. The great thing about this method is the maintenance does not compromise the integrity of the extension, meaning you can reuse your extensions and save money by not having to constantly purchase new ones.

Weave

This affordable option is popular with our Loganville clients. The hair extensions are weaved into your hair using a braiding method, therefore your hair is not heated. This type of method is recommended for those clients with thick hair that is able to withstand the braiding process. Thin, silky hair is not ideal for this method. Like tape-ins, weaving your extensions allows you to reuse them.

Bonded

This method involves fusing small sections of hair extensions with your natural locks by heating the keratin tip of the extension. This process takes up to four hours and is the most expensive treatment, however it lasts up to four months compared to weaves and tape-ins that only last up to two.  Another thing to consider with this type of application is that maintenance does not allow you to reuse the extensions, meaning you must purchase new extensions every four months if you want to maintain them.
